Re: Karunes SC2 Q&A up to Batch 28 (2/5)

Dota would honestly be a reason to buy SC2 for many people. Just log onto west or east and see how many people still play it. I even put my war3 cd in at least once a week to play with my friends back home. Its the oldest game I'm still playing.

I'm very glad to hear that you'll be able to implement heroes through the editor. While I'm not a fan of DotA, heroes still add a lot to custom maps.
The built-in map locking feature is neat too.

Eh, I'm not so sure if that's a good feature or a bad one.

Some people like to leave their maps open (like me) so that others can improve on it if they see fit. I can foresee people taking open-source maps and locking it in as their own version.

I think it'll become very difficult to learn from others now. =[

I was discussing this with thomas, and we decided the optimal solution would be to lock in data relating to the original author, but leave the map itself open.

I agree.
