Topic: CPU-Z Giving false readings...?

I installed CPU-Z version 1.47 on my system and I think it is giving me false readings about my clock speed.  When I first run the application it shows the correct speed of my Core 2 Duo e8400 Wolfdale (Clocked to 3.6ghz) but after two seconds is shows my multi from its original 9x to 6x and indicates 2.4ghz.  I looked at my bios and my target clock there is indicated at 3.6ghz (FSB at 400, multi at 9x) so everying is correct there...can any one explain this, how can I be sure of my "real" clock speed at any one time?

When your computer is idle it downclocks your cpu to save energy

Re: CPU-Z Giving false readings...?

Wow...how humiliatingly simple.  Your GPU does the same thing, should have known.  Thanks.
