Topic: Problem playing AVIs

I have an odd issue where whenever I try to play videos on my Apple (AVI files), they show up as white and have no picture. I tried downloading at least half a dozen codec packs for Quicktime, but they all seem to do dick. Could anybody point me to a codec pack/fix that would make my Apple a useable video player?

I've got 3ivx installed which covers the large majority of AVI codecs in the quicktime player;

but you really ought to just use VLC media player or Mplayer OSX.  The former includes every plausible AVI codec known to man and even lets you play the vast majority of WMV files too, among other containers like MKV, OGM, MP4, etc. Better performance playing high def movies and less CPU usage are a nice touch.

Hm, I thought I replied a while ago... guess the reply got lost.

Thanks. Downloading VLC fixed all of the problems I had, and oddly enough, I don't even use it (for one reason or another, it won't dock on my docking bar). Quicktime works perfectly though, so thanks.
