Topic: Copyright?

Feh? Just got this message-- "We have received notice that our name is trademark infringing. SO we provide you with a non-infringing logo and site: [ ppw.blizzpub.net ] "

Except when that the message gives is a dead link. Sooo... what's going on? And what's the correct link?

Yea.. I just asked the staff and they said it was copyright issues and we didnt feel like going through it so its been renamed.. i think everythign is being moved over to a new direct on the server so it should only be a small wait

Its back up, nothing was lost in the game. If http://ppw.blizzpub.net doesn't work for you, try refreshing, you may be seeing a cached copy. If it still doesn't work, then your DNS hasn't updated itself at your ISP and so the subdomain isn't working yet for you.

a representative at HappyEmpire / Pimpwar.com called me up and told me he had a registered trademark on the name pimpwar.  He informed me that I had to change the name of Pimp Wars to avoid confusion, since their product is also a web based game on pimpin', and if we didn't change the name he would send a Cease & Decist to our ISP.  I thought he was BSing it, but I later looked it up on the USPTO site:

I figured any sort of fight about this would cost me more than $20, and I'm not willing to spend more than 20 bucks on keeping a name for a web game which has little resources and is alwmost dead anyway.  Trademark litigation is no fun, and very pricey.  Obviously these people have the money to fight since they had the money to register a trademark and were calling me up
