Topic: Mature Discussion Rules - Please Read
Welcome to the Mature Discussion Forum!
This is a place for members to share information or opinions on subjects that are important or interesting to them, and hopefully to others. It is required that you put more time and thought into topics and responses in MD than you might with the other forums. This way, posters can expect quality threads to post in, and quality feedback when they broach their own issues of politics, religion, philosophy, life, et cetera.
The following are some rules that will help you to contribute successfully to the forum:
Behaviour!:
One important element to MD: respect. You must act respectfully towards the person or people you are addressing. It's fine to disagree - no argument would be complete without a view of all sides - but there are so many differing opinions out there that some are bound to make you want to knock your face off your keyboard. It's okay to be angry or frustrated, but think out your responses, and "fight" back with something more than "die plz" or other such cheapness.
One-liners!:
It's not okay to post one-liners such as "you're wrong" or "that's ridiculous". You must back up your opinions. Elaborate on your ideas! Give people something to respond to! Everyone has something to say, so make your contribution worth hearing.
Short, needless, quips will be deleted. A single witty but not particularly mature response tends to breed more of the same. If you do not have something substantial to say, wait until you do. The creator of any thread adhering to MD guidelines deserves to see it grow here rather than get flushed out to OT.
Grammar/spelling!:
Use your best of both here, basically to make sure that you get out the message you want. Of course, "leetspeak", or similar means of expression, will not be accepted. As well, do remember to press 'enter' on occasion! A single giant paragraph can be daunting to the most curious reader.
Finally, use common sense, and don't get frustrated if you don't get into the swing of things right away. This forum is not to take away the fun, it's to make sure there's a safe haven for the massive variety of intelligent ideas and opinions we know are floating around Blizzpub.
