Well, after playing a hell of a lot of public and private matches, those are the names that constantly come up as heroes that are easy to play. I've personally witnessed it happen, too: a player who is usually terrible can take sniper and do more or less just as well as a veteran. That is also the reason why these heroes are chosen much more commonly in -rd and -ap. Clockwerk is in virtually every game, if he is available, because he is known to be overpowered (or, if you are the type of person who likes to insist that all heroes are balanced despite constant balance tweaks, 'easier to play').
I probably should have explained the Pit Lord thing better. Basically, he is pretty much the best farmer in the game and can become more wealthy faster than any other hero, but in the hands of many players, he doesn't end up contributing to combat more than with the occasional pit of malice. He can win a fight, but since all of his skills are targetted aoe, its normally a pretty simple matter to beat him. Knowing what items to get and where to place those skills make the difference.
There are plenty of heroes who are completely 'noob-unfriendly'. You mentioned invoker, he's probably the best case, just because it's so hard for a bad/new player to do well with him, but in the hands of someone who knows all his abilities by heart along with the codes for each, he is absolutely unbeatable. I am nowhere near that good, myself. I have to stay away with him, because I'm not good enough. When I'm underperforming and my team is angry about it, then I don't have fun.
Other examples would be geomancer, dirge.. witch doctor (maybe... actually probably not), warlock.. and the ones I mentioned before. Very powerful in the hands of a good player, very very weak in the hands of a bad player. That's what I mean when I say noob-unfriendly.
It sounds like you guys are starting to bristle up a bit, so relax please. I'm not trying to accuse anyone of anything. It's perfectly fine if you like drow and lycan as your favorites, for whatever reason. I just wanted to point out that in case the reason why you like them is because you're good with them, which is very very often the case when people pick favorites, then you should know that it's a bit like a kid saying that Mewtwo is his favorite pokemon just because it is the most powerful and he can beat everyone with it. Or whatever the most powerful pokemon is this days, I dont know. No points for creativity or originality. Meanwhile, if you say that someone like Jakiro is your favorite hero, then its clear that even though the guy might not always do the best, he still likes the playstyle, or maybe he has a particularly awesome combo for him, or maybe he just thinks two headed dragons are cool. Either way, lots of points for creativity and originality.
TL;DR: Lol, every1 picks lycan n drow tehy are like the easiest to pwn with lmao!
Seriously, please don't start getting defensive and antagonistic as if I was trying to make accusations or put someone down. I'm just trying to have a conversation here, and I pointed out an observation which I believe to be objectively true, without bias. Nothing against LMD. I have no bad intentions here. Please do not get angry. I did not intend to offend anyone. Please try to relax and use your indoor voice if you want to disagree with me. Everythig is alright. I have no personal vendetta here and I do not think that I am better than anyone in fact I am probably worse. NOTE: THE WRITER OF THIS POST DOES NOT WISH TO HAVE A FLAMEWAR. HE IS MERELY TRYING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DISCUSSION NORMALLY. THANK YOU.
Well knows he who uses to consider, that our faith and knowledge thrives by exercise, as well as our limbs and complexion. Truth is compared in Scripture to a streaming fountain; if her waters flow not in a perpetual progression, they sicken into a muddy pool of conformity and tradition. A man may be a heretic in the truth; and if he believe things only because his pastor says so, or the Assembly so determines, without knowing other reason, though his belief be true, yet the very truth he holds becomes his heresy.
