Re: Starcraft 2 Difficulity
Im not entirely sure of your question. I thought Starcraft Classic was pretty easy to learn through single player campaigns. And Warcraft was even easier and more user friendly through its campaigns - so I believe SC2 will be fairly easy as well.
The true challenge will be knowing all of the games' mechanics by heart. Blizzard is well known to use the "Easy to learn hard to master" concept.
Re: Starcraft 2 Difficulity
I think what he means is that though the gameplay itself is deceptively simple, the game itself can be quite challenging.
It doesn't hold your hand in any way whatsoever; WC3 had autocast, at least. Modern RTSs use squad-based combat with a small level of AI that can attack while on the move. Not so in StarCraft. You are entirely responsible for every individual unit and what they're doing at any given time.
Re: Starcraft 2 Difficulity
To add onto that many people's inability to commit to the main gameplay of the game. It seems whenever anyone here play WC3 (or in the current case Starcraft), they don't want to step up their one vs one game and relugate most of their game playing to just custom games or team games.
Re: Starcraft 2 Difficulity
Maybe because when we try to play 1v1. I don't know we come across this guy weaver who dominates you 5 second flat and it doesn't even give you time to realize how or why you just got owned.

You pick crappy maps for one. Also, I gave you a link that outlines pretty much the "theory" concerning Starcraft.
And I don't know about you guys, but playing a 3v3 BGH on battle.net is one of the most interpersonal experiences that I have faced in my life. Unless you consider accusations of map hacker and lagger, social.

You can blow that theory crap out of your ass. Fuck theory, fuck strategies, when you play weaver only thing that comes across your mind is how to survive for as long as possible. Surviving 5 minutes is an eternity, I made it to 15 once.
