In terms of the runes:
That rune seems to indicate the Starcraft Franchise, a second rune has been suggested to be one from the Deathknight's Sword and we've got the Hel Rune. It's entirely possible it's just representing each of their existing franchises.

One of my prayers was answered when SC2 was announced - and now I pray that Diablo 3 gets delivered.

In a question and answer session that concluded this year's GDC Paris, Pardo was asked directly if he could talk more about "the new game" that rumours have strongly suggested will be Diablo 3.

"So you want me to announce the game before our announcement?" he said. "No offense, but I think there's like 300 people here, and I'll be ripped apart by 8000 people there [at the Invitational] if I pre-announce it - but it's going to be really exciting. I think everybody here will be really excited about the announcement."

Hm, didn't notice this thread.

The numbers are Blizzard fucking with us.  They're the Lost numbers.  (Expect 8 tomorrow and 42 on Saturday.)

Also, the "purple walrus" thing was always a real stretch.  That doesn't really look anything like a walrus, aside from being large and purple (which should be much more apparent with today's piece).
