Well we can probably safely assume that Druid won't be the mystery 5th archetype because I doubt they wil have more than one summoner class for retail
I hope though they don't bring back too many of the old classes, honestly. Not that I didn't love them, but I think they can come up with awesome creative new ones like the Witch Doctor.

Well, the best way would be by not featuring diablo himself, id guess. I would be perfectly satisfied with Tyrael as a main villain.
They dont have to butcher it, but probably will. I bet they will introduce some weird way to restore/create soulstones.

I'm pretty convinced Tyrael will turn at some point, he's always had a... sinister atmosphere about him in the cinematics. If you can, go back through the Diablo 2 cinematics.
But yeah, Diablo's got to make a reappearance somehow, or it wouldn't be a Diablo game.

Didn't you guys beat the xpac? The ending of D2 left the hole WIDE OPEN for a sequal and a way to bring back all of the demon brothers.

The details of the game are a little bit fuzzy, but if i am not mistaken, the worldstone only served as a barrier between heaven, earth and hell. And destroying a demons' soulstone would destroy a demon, not banish it, so removing the worldstone wouldnt be enough. Again, it is a long time ago.
But I do remember that I was certain back then that tyrael would be the new bad guy, and the story text and the extra-spikey tyrael on the website confirm it.

Regardless, there's still two of the lesser evils left, each of which is controlling half of hell. Then, there's gotta be a bunch of crazy angels we're going to have to take out.

If I remember right, in LOD you finally destroy the soulstones of the diablo brothers, but then when you destroy the world stone its like opening pandoras box....so I was expecting that basically that meant that the diablo brothers could potentially be back.

You get diablo and mephisto (act 4), but you never destroy Baal's Soulstone (act 5). Don't think they ever go into what happened with that.

I wonder if by some consequence of destroying the world stone, that allowed Baal to come back and un-destroy or remake his brother's soul stones.
I would actually like that storyline, not only because I want to see Diablo and to a lesser extent Mephisto again, but also because it runs with the theme of futility the game has.

The text on the Diablo 3 site does hint that you'll be fighting some heavenly entities this time around as well. I'm thinking there's a celestial faction that would like to turn Sanctuary into a staging point and recruit humanity for the war against hell, or something like that. Forcefully, if need be.

imo necro+druid+amazon are out. (amazon men?)
witch doctor = necro - shitty poison skills (poison dagger? nothanks.)
druid? i'll miss transforming but that was the only thing that made druid unique. His summons + elemental skills made him too plain.
sorc is being announced 5th for suspense, but i bet she is probably already completed. (i'm calling it).
pally is 50/50 tossup. (they seem to have barb playing the role of noble protagonist now. barb is a more likeable fit anyway (rexxar/beastmaster type of hero)
