Topic: Black Friday / Pre Black Friday deals

Anyone spot any really good deals for this coming shopping weekend?

Newegg sent me their list of pre-black-friday deals: http://promotions.newegg.com/NEPro/PreB … index.html
they have a badass deal on the Sonata 3 if you're looking to build a system now. 74.99 is almost half the normal price of 129.99 newegg has and even at the normal price it's a pretty good deal considering it's a decent case and a solid power supply.

Most of the other stuff listed isn't really interesting to me, though.

Anyone see decent prices on higher-end LCD HDTV's around 37-42 inches?  The 42" Panasonic listed on newegg is rather enticing, but I'd prefer LCD to a plasma.

Re: Black Friday / Pre Black Friday deals

There are no really good deals this year. Newegg has gone far downhill, and all the B&M stores have shit.

I ended up just getting in on the BF.c sales for car shit. They aren't stellar, but meh.

I got/am getting:

Flywheel/clutch kit (free clutch line, free tranny fluid, free pressure bleeder)
Short shift kit with shift knob (going to sell the shift knob, free selector rod)
Rotors, pads, and brake fluid (free brake lines)
Water pump/other cooling system goodies if they go on sale

Overall, the discounts are about 20% saved which is better than nothing for stuff I'm going to need at some point anyway.

I urge you guys to not waste your time and camp out, since the deals really are subpar. This is coming from someone who has camped out for the past few years every time.

I never camp out. I was hoping to see some price drops on stuff online.  Not gonna lose sleep and sit in the cold over a TV, but I don't mind saving some money if it's a decent quality buy where they deliver the shit to my door tongue

Re: Black Friday / Pre Black Friday deals

Okay, well I haven't camped out. I meant getting there at like 5 AM.

Thing about TVs is I probably wouldn't buy one online. If something that big messes up, I don't want to ship it back to get exchanged. I'd rather drive to Best Buy or Circuit and replace it. Problem is their prices suck this year and even if they didn't, I don't need a TV.

It's microSDHC though... most phones and mp3 players and card readers won't support it

I thought the R4 doesn't have SDHC support neutral is there a new version?

I'm updating my old m3 (which hasn't been updated in over a year) to an edge which has sdhc support.  I've read that it's good and it's cheap so I decided to try it out.

Because we're in the mode of derailing threads anyway,

have you had any luck with emulating GBA games?  I have an M3 pro (slot-2) SD and I've never got a single GBA game to run, though it'll boot into the GBA mode fine. I suppose I should've got the more expensive one at the time (m3 perfect?) which had the extra ram for running gba games.

Since nobody sells the slot-2 m3 perfect anymore, guess I need a slot-1 card plus something like this: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2967

Re: Black Friday / Pre Black Friday deals

I have no clue about that, I've never tried since I still have my perfect.

Now back on topic, has anyone seen some good deals on hard drives, external would be nice, but getting a case isn't that hard to begin with so either is good.

Re: Black Friday / Pre Black Friday deals

I haven't seen any out of this world deals, but 94.99 for a 1tb internal drive is pretty good:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 822152102.   I'd recommend that over getting a pre-built external where you don't know what drive will be inside it.

Also they have a cavalry 1tb external on newegg for $99.99 after rebate; mind you I never got my rebate when I bought a 500g cavalry a year back but a friend of mine did, so YMMV on that one.   Cavalry tends to use western digital drives inside, which are decent.
