Who has it? And most importantly are you addicted? Because I am.

Playing as America is awesome or crushing those traitors to the crown is equally pleasing.
In this version of total war they have drastically expanded the tech tree. Now you can do all sorts of research. You can advance through the military tech tree to learn new firing formations. You can research new modes of economic production. Ugg if I abolish slavery my plantations will cost more! And you can research new forms of government. Education is important for a strong economy but if your people get too educated they'll try to rebel. You can either support the rebellion or crush it.

I'm having a lot fun with this game. I'm still playing the road to independence mini campaign. I've back stabbed and slaughtered so many native Americans I'm having trouble sleeping at night. They got rid of the merchant and diplomat units because they were a waste of time. Diplomacy has been streamlined. It reminds of civilization.

In previous total war games the only important location in a sate was the capital. Now the region has been decentralized, so if you want to fuck with someone you can run around and sack their farms, factories, and colleges. So this forces the player to leave the capital instead of being a turtle.

The game lacks polishing. Some units dont fire when they should, the AI is stupid at times, and the unit pathing doesn't work well. All of these issues could have been fixed in one round of beta testing. I hope they will patch the game soon to fix these issues, because if it wasn't for that i would give this game a 10/10.

Go grab it, so I can destroy you online.
